AI Receptionist with Voice OrchestrationConcierge AI (Hackathon)

An AI receptionist that makes phone calls for you: describe the job, approve the plan, and listen to the AI place the call live, with a transcript, a recording and the result at the end. It can also research local service providers and call up to five of them at once.

Built with Next.js 16, React 19, Fastify 5, Supabase, Google Gemini, LiveKit, VAPI.ai (fallback), Kestra, Railway, Turborepo, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS.

The storyproblem, build, outcome

What it is

Concierge AI started at the AI Agents Assemble Hackathon as a research-to-booking pipeline: describe what you need, and the system finds providers through Google Places with Gemini Maps grounding as the fallback, calls up to 5 of them at the same time to check availability, pricing and services, and presents ranked recommendations with the reasoning behind each. The live site now leads with direct dispatch - give it a job, approve the plan, and it places the call and hands back a transcript, a recording and the outcome - and offers a free demo call that rings your own phone so you can hear how it sounds. Calls run on a dedicated LiveKit voice-agent service, with VAPI kept as a fallback runtime.

The problem

Manual research and phone calls to multiple service providers is time-consuming and inefficient. Users need a way to simultaneously evaluate multiple options and get real-time availability.

What I built

Built a multi-service platform: a Next.js web app on Vercel, a Fastify API on Railway, Supabase for data and real-time progress, Kestra for workflow orchestration, Gemini for provider research and ranking, and a LiveKit voice-agent service that owns call sessions, handoffs and diagnostics. Real-time progress tracking via Supabase subscriptions keeps users informed throughout the process.

What happened

Built for the AI Agents Assemble Hackathon, integrating 5 sponsor technologies, and still live on Vercel with a free demo call on the landing page. Demonstrates concurrent AI phone calling with up to 5 simultaneous calls, ranked recommendations with reasoning, and a voice runtime moved from VAPI to LiveKit after the hackathon.

What it changed

  • Automates hours of manual phone research into minutes
  • Integrated 5 hackathon sponsor technologies: Kestra, Gemini, Vercel, CodeRabbit and the voice runtime
  • Web app deployed on Vercel, API on Railway
Under the hoodthe decisions a senior engineer would ask about
  • Kestra workflow orchestration for multi-step AI pipeline
  • Concurrent calling architecture (up to 5 simultaneous calls) on a LiveKit voice-agent service, with VAPI as an env-gated fallback
  • Google Places discovery with Gemini Maps grounding as the fallback, plus Brave Search for off-platform reputation signals
  • Turborepo monorepo: web, API, voice agent, and MCP adapters for voice and SMS

Want something like this built?

Bring the idea or the app. Step 1 is a free 15-minute fit call. Step 2 is a paid discovery session, $500, that ends in a written plan. Step 3 is a fixed quote for the build, or you take the plan and build it yourself.
