Does an AI receptionist work with GoHighLevel or HubSpot?

David He, FounderUpdated 2 min read
The short answer

Both are among the easier systems to connect. In GoHighLevel, an admin can create a private integration token that lets an AI read open slots and book appointments on a GoHighLevel calendar. In HubSpot, a private app lets an AI add the caller as a contact and log the call. Neither needs a partner program. NexAI connects to neither yet; both are on the roadmap.

GoHighLevel

Many contractors run GoHighLevel, often set up by a marketing agency. It is both a CRM and a calendar, so an AI receptionist can do the whole loop there:

  • find or create the contact,
  • read open slots on the right calendar,
  • book the appointment,
  • and add a note with what the caller said.

Access comes from a private integration token an admin creates in settings, with only the permissions the tool needs. HighLevel recommends rotating these tokens every 90 days.

If your GoHighLevel account belongs to your agency, the agency may need to create the token or turn the feature on.

HubSpot

HubSpot is more common for sales-led businesses than for trucks-and-techs shops, but plenty of contractors use its free CRM. An AI receptionist would typically:

  • add or update the caller as a contact,
  • log the call with a summary,
  • and, if you sell bigger jobs, open a deal.

Access comes from a private app an admin creates in HubSpot settings, again with only the permissions needed. Booking a time usually still happens in your calendar, not in HubSpot.

What to check before you connect either one

  1. Who is the admin on the account: you, or an agency?
  2. Which calendar or pipeline should a new call land in?
  3. What counts as a duplicate contact: same phone, or same email?

Where NexAI stands

The NexAI front desk does not connect to GoHighLevel or HubSpot yet. Both are on the roadmap, and GoHighLevel is likely ahead of HubSpot because it carries its own calendar. Today, Tier 2 books routine work into Google Calendar and texts you a summary of every call. Tier 1, the Speed-to-Lead Front Desk, is $497/month with $0 setup. Tier 2, the Complete AI Front Desk + Custom Site, is $997/month with $1,500 setup and adds the live AI voice receptionist.

More questions home-service contractors ask

Can an AI book appointments in GoHighLevel?

Yes, through GoHighLevel's API, if an admin gives it a token with calendar permissions. The tool reads open slots and books into the calendar you pick.

Do I need a paid HubSpot plan to connect an AI receptionist?

Private apps are available to HubSpot account admins without a partner program. Check your plan's limits in HubSpot, since features change.

Does NexAI work with GoHighLevel?

Not yet. It is on the roadmap, likely ahead of HubSpot, because GoHighLevel has its own calendar the front desk could book into.
