What was broken
MonliPets (formerly KnottyPawz), a sustainable pet product manufacturer with a 100-year textile heritage, was struggling with manual wholesale operations. Their WooCommerce setup required a stack of paid plugins that still couldn't deliver the B2B experience their wholesale buyers expected. Manual order processing via email and phone led to errors, delays, and limited scalability.

What I built
This was the second build for the same company. Under its earlier KnottyPawz name I had built a product-recommendation chat agent for the retail store, one that asks about the pet and suggests the right products before checkout. For the wholesale side, working with Claude, I built a B2B wholesale platform in 8 weeks. It has a custom Next.js frontend with a local PostgreSQL cache for fast product browsing, integration with their existing WooCommerce backend, tier-based pricing and volume discounts, multi-carrier shipping (USPS, FedEx, UPS), and Stripe payments. It handles the wholesale rules while feeling like a consumer store.
